"i" for "e", and "e" for "i"
:::: SEANCE TWO ::::
"i" for "e", and "e" for "i"
It's Friday, surely some of you already invited your friends to hang out. So let's do this quick.
One of the most notorious mistakes we make, is when we pronounce the "i" and the "e" within words. I realized that most of the time, exchanging those sounds (in the way they are pronounced in Spanish), gives a better approach to its meaning.
Let's check this few examples and how to better pronounce it:
Green -------- "grin"
Grin ---------- "gren"
East ---------- "ist"
This ---------- "des"
Trick----------- "treck"
Remember to soften the words, don't slam the tongue (English is a soften language compared to Spanish). Try recording your voice several times to analyze your own tries, you can even stretch the words to put extra emphasis on "e" and "i" : "griiiiiiiiiiiiiiin" (green), "deeeeeeeeeees" (this).
Going forward, try this little trick (exchange the sound of the "i" for "e", and the "e" for "i" when you notice them between words), of course not always is the case (as in the word "will" which is close the same pronunciation), but the purpose of this exercise is also to unlock a different way on your brain to learn the language.
Enjoy your night, friends ("frends") nite out.
PS This time I wrote down in quotation marks ( " " ) the closest way to pronounce a word, but I will try not to do it again: is better to learn reading texts in the way it should be.
